Why work with Signpost Consulting?

Together we determine exactly what it is you are selling from your client’s point of view and what problem you solve for them. We figure out what makes your business unique and helps you stand out from your competitors (USP – unique selling proposition). We also work out exactly who you’re selling to and what they look like. Then we develop a strapline and the key messages which will ignite the interest of your ideal client, both in a way that they understand and which makes them believe that your business can solve their problem for them. Refer to this post for more information.

A key selling message is three -prong. It addresses the problem you solve for your clients, how you are going to solve it and includes a call to action. For an example refer to this post.

A well-crafted three to five-word strapline explains to your ideal clients WIIFM (what’s in it for me?) It explains which problems you can solve for them and what makes you stand out from your competitors. An effective strapline will ignite the interest of your ideal clients in your business. Marketing is about making your prospective ideal clients realise you have a product or service which can solve a problem for them, which makes marketing the prelude to sales.

A call to action is an instruction to guide a prospect to take the next step forward. Consumers like to be invited, guided and told what to do. So take charge. Lead your prospects to take action and move them a step closer to becoming a customer. To find out how to create a great call to action click here.

If you have clearly identified your ideal clients, you will know where they ‘hang out’ and what channels to use to reach them. It is then just a matter of determining what activities are going to give you the best return for your investment.

Absolutely we can. However, to make sure that you are going to get traction from your ad, we will want to make sure you can clearly and concisely explain how your business can help solve your ideal client’s problem with an effective strapline and key selling messages.

Content is what you write about, whether it be online, such as social media posts, websites or blogs, or in hard copy, including advertorial or snail mail letter or an e-letter. It is a great idea to plan out a content calendar so you can be integrated across all channels. If you would like a template to help you out, sign up to Signpost Consulting’s monthly newsletter and you will automatically receive a template to help you achieve this.

Knowing where your ideal client ‘hangs out’ enables you to determine the most profitable spend for your marketing budget. Once we know who your ideal client is, it is easy ascertain which social media platforms they are using and those are the ones you need to be using for your business.

At Signpost Consulting we recommend looking after your existing customers as it is extremely resource intensive getting new clients. Existing clients spend up to 33% more and also give referrals to other like-minded clients. In fact, good service to an existing client can turn that client into a sales person for you via word of mouth advertising. To understand more about how looking after existing clients can help your business, please read this post.
